Ganymed nace en los meses de pandemia, la cual mostró claramente a los países europeos la importancia del uso de las herramientas digitales y los medios de comunicación para nuestra sociedad. Debido al distanciamiento social requerido, los canales de comunicación han cobrado mucha importancia y son muy necesarios para la integración social de las personas. Sin embargo, un grupo de la población particularmente afectado durante este tiempo de confinamiento, fue el de las personas mayores, que a menudo no pueden utilizar los medios y canales de comunicación actuales. Por ellos, los integrantes de Ganymed quieren hacer llegar estos medios a este colectivo y así que sientan que son parte de la nueva era tecnológica.
Con esta iniciativa, se pretende que personas de la tercera edad, junto con la ayuda de educadores y educadoras, familiares y jóvenes adquieran habilidades para manejar con facilidad las nuevas tecnologías.
Desde que el proyecto comenzó, los integrantes han hecho una búsqueda eficiente sobre la realidad que vive este colectivo con respecto al uso de las nuevas tecnologías y han investigado sobre sus necesidades y sobre el concepto de geragogía (pedagogía de la vejez). Estos resultados se encuentran en la web del proyecto.
Durante el mes de julio, Victoria Rodríguez, coordinadora de proyectos junto con Nereida Varela, manager general y Marta Mármol, gerente del departamento de innovación, asistieron a la segunda reunión del proyecto Ganymed en las instalaciones de CEIPES, en Palermo, Italia.
En los días de reunión, nuestras compañeras programaron todas las actividades a realizar, entre ellas la creación de una plataforma online, ideada por Inercia Digital y en la que el resto de socios y socias del proyecto también son partícipes.

The elderly will be able to manage new technologies thanks to the ganymed project
Ganymed was born in the months of the pandemic, which clearly showed European countries the importance of the use of digital tools and the media for our society. Due to the required social distancing, communication channels have become very important and are very necessary for the social integration of people. However, one group of the population that was particularly affected during this time of confinement was that of the elderly, who are often unable to use current media and communication channels. For them, the members of Ganymed want to bring these media to this group so that they feel that they are part of the new technological era.
With this initiative, it is intended that elderly people, together with the help of educators, family members and young people, acquire skills to easily handle new technologies.
Since the project began, the members have carried out an efficient search on the reality that this group lives with respect to the use of new technologies and have investigated their needs and the concept of geragogy (Pedagogy of old age). These results can be found on the project website.
During the month of July, Victoria Rodríguez, project coordinator, along with Nereida Varela, general manager, and Marta Mármol, manager of the innovation department, attended the second meeting of the Ganymed project at the CEIPES facilities in Palermo, Italy.
At the meeting, our colleagues scheduled all the activities to be carried out, including the creation of an online platform, designed by Inercia Digital and in which the rest of the project partners are also participants.
