Young people with fewer opportunities will be able to acquire entrepreneurial skills thanks to the European project E-mprover!

The labour market is increasingly changing and workers who are willing to take the initiative of their own projects and businesses are highly valued. Entrepreneurship is defined as the beginning of an activity that requires effort or work, or has a certain importance or scope, that is, the attitude and aptitude that an individual takes to carry out a project through ideas and opportunities. If we focus on the business field, it is a widely used term, since it is related to the creation of companies and new products.

Although these competences are very important and highly valued in the labour market in Europe, and more specifically in Spain, we find a very significant problem, since, according to Eurostat, 15.6% of young Spaniards between 18 and 24 They have spent years without studying or working, and this problem is intensified in young people in rural or remote areas, low-income families or people with disabilities.

The importance of the Internet today can be used as an opportunity for these young people, and online business development can be a viable solution in the absence of attractive jobs. Generally, entrepreneurial education curricula focus on the development of traditional companies and not on the new context of integration of digital innovation that is covered in the European project E-mprover, in which Inercia Digital is working.

This European project is located in the equator since it has a duration of two years and this month of December the first year will have been completed. The objective of this project is to solve the problems mentioned above by contributing to the social inclusion of young people with few opportunities through the development of skills in the area of entrepreneurship. In order for this objective to be achieved, non-formal learning tools are being developed to be used so that young people with fewer opportunities are benefited.

Three modules are being carried out on “How to plan an online business”, “How to manage an online business” and “Using ICTs to promote a business and sell on the web”. An online digital education platform has also been created where these contents will be integrated and will be available as open resources in December 2021, once the project is finished.

To conclude, when this project will have finished, the positive impact will be observed in all the categories involved in the project and in the members of the local, national and European communities since E-mprover is responding to a horizontal priority of social inclusion.
