Mis prácticas en Inercia Digital
Cuando empiezas tus estudios en la universidad hay algo en lo que no puedes dejar de pensar, algo que está casi al final del túnel pero que tarde o temprano alcanzarás cuando llegue el momento: las prácticas curriculares.
Este tipo de prácticas son las que ofrece la universidad a modo de asignatura, para que los alumnos se vayan familiarizando con el mundo laboral antes de terminar sus estudios universitarios. He de confesar que yo siempre lo he visto como algo muy lejano, algo que iba a tardar en llegar. Pero si echo la vista atrás, es increíble lo rápido que ha pasado el tiempo y ha llegado la hora de embarcarme en semejante experiencia.
Desde hace un tiempo he tenido más o menos claro que quería dedicarme a trabajar en empresas que me ofrecieran cierta flexibilidad, además de la opción de teletrabajar. Esto último se ha convertido en algo crucial para mi desde la pandemia por covid-19. Me ha quedado claro que un empleo que te permite teletrabajar es un empleo seguro y eficiente. Siempre y cuando tenga un buen espacio de trabajo en casa, con un ordenador propio y buena conexión a internet, teletrabajar será absolutamente viable, y en mi caso, preferente.
Teniendo esto en cuenta, Inercia Digital fue mi primera opción cuando salieron los destinos de prácticas para mi facultad. Yo hago Estudios Ingleses, una filología, y al principio pensé que quizás mis estudios no tendrían mucho que ver con lo que se hace en esta empresa, pero luego me di cuenta de que este tipo de empresas se nutren del conocimiento de personas preparadas en multitud de campos de trabajo, sin necesidad de encasillar a nadie.
Mi experiencia en Inercia Digital ha estado centrada en el área de gestión de proyectos de la Unión Europea. Yo ya conocía este ámbito, pero no me había planteado la posibilidad de meterme tan de lleno en ello. Lo cierto es que ha sido una grata experiencia trabajar en proyectos con fines formativos para personas en riesgo de exclusión, maquetando el contenido de estos cursos y realizando otra multitud de tareas que han servido para reforzar los conocimientos adquiridos en la universidad, pues mi labor ha estado también encaminada a la traducción de los contenidos del inglés al español, y viceversa. En este sentido, sí que he encontrado más compatibilidad con mi formación universitaria.
Puedo decir que estoy satisfecha con el trabajo realizado, pues en todo momento me he sentido a gusto y sé que mis contribuciones han sido bien aceptadas por mi tutor, y con el trato cercano y casual recibido por parte de mi tutor, Enrique Picón Roca. A pesar de que estas prácticas han sido en remoto, he estado conectada con él y con otros compañeros de prácticas a través de una plataforma que hasta ahora desconocía: Slack. Gracias a este periodo de prácticas, y mediante el uso de esta plataforma, he podido experimentar lo que es el trabajo en grupo y en remoto. Y lo cierto es que todo ha ido sobre ruedas, ha sido muy sencillo trabajar de esta manera, más de lo que imaginaba.
Pero todo lo que empieza acaba, y tras casi un mes trabajando con el equipo de Inercia Digital, va llegando la hora de finalizar mi periodo de prácticas curriculares. La verdad es que ha sido una experiencia gratificante y enriquecedora, y me gustaría seguir ampliando mi currículum trabajando con empresas de este tipo.
Inercia Digital ha sido el punto de partida del largo camino en el que me esperan infinidad de sorpresas, estoy segura de ello.

My Internship at Inercia Digital
When you start your studies at the university there is something you can’t stop thinking about, something that is almost at the end of the tunnel but that sooner or later you will reach when the time comes: your curricular internship.
This type of internship is offered by the university as a subject, so that students become familiar with the working world before finishing their university studies. I must confess that I have always seen it as something distant in the future, something that was going to take a long time to arrive. But if I look back, it is unbelievable how quickly time has passed, and suddenly I realized it was time to embark on such an experience like this.
For some time now, it has been more or less clear to me that I wanted to work with companies that offered some flexibility to their employees, as well as the option of telecommuting. This has become crucial for me since the whole pandemic thing happened. It is clear to me that a job that allows you to telecommute is a secure and equally efficient job, and that as long as you have a good workspace at home, with your own computer and a good internet connection, teleworking is absolutely viable.
Having this in mind, Inercia Digital was my first choice when the internships for my faculty came up. I do English Studies, a philology, and at first I thought that perhaps my studies would not have much to do with what is done in this company, but then I realized that this type of company is nourished by the knowledge of people prepared in many fields of work, without the need of categorizing anyone.
My experience in Inercia Digital has been focused on the area of Project Management with European projects. I already heard about this field, but I had not considered the possibility of getting so involved in it. The truth is that it has been a great experience to work on projects for training purposes for people at risk of exclusion, designing the content of these courses and so on. My work has also been focused on translating content from English to Spanish and vice versa. In this sense I have found more compatibility with my university education, but I can be satisfied because at all times I have felt at ease and I know that my contributions have been well accepted by my tutor.
It is worth mentioning that I am more than satisfied with the close and casual relationship I have had with my tutor, Enrique Picón Roca. Although this internship has been remote, I have been connected with him and with other fellow interns through a platform that until now I did not know: Slack. Thanks to this internship, and through the use of this platform, I have been able to experience what it is to work in a group and remotely. And the truth is that everything has gone smoothly, it has been very easy to work in this way, more than I imagined.
But everything that begins comes to an end, and after almost a month working with the Inercia Digital’s team, it is time to finish my internship period. The truth is that it has been a rewarding and enriching experience, and I would like to continue expanding my resume working with companies of this kind.
Inercia Digital has been the starting point for a long road in which many surprises await me, I am sure of it.
