“Coding with your Students” en la Semana Europea de la Programación
El 7 de octubre tuvo lugar el curso “Coding with your Students” impartido por Inercia Digital en El Rompido School, que además coincidió con la Semana Europea de la Programación (6 al 21 octubre). Esta vez, participantes de ITIS G. Feltrinell (Instituto de Secundaria de Italia)i vinieron a realizar este curso y a aprender sobre cómo usar los códigos para la creación de juegos. El motivo del curso es que los profesores se familiaricen con herramientas interactivas como Scratch que permite crear videojuegos de una manera intuitiva, y que así en el futuro sean capaces de crear juegos educativos que usar con su alumnado.
Durante el curso, los participantes pudieron crear dos juegos: el clásico pong, donde aprendieron a crear imágenes a partir de cero, al igual que a ponerlas en movimiento; a automatizar una de las imágenes para que el ordenador moviera una de las partes; y también a crear un marcador y poner música. El segundo juego se basaba en el movimiento automático y repetitivo de la máquina y en el hecho de poder esquivar obstáculos. Lo importante de ese juego era el saber mandar mensajes entre los diferentes elementos para que la acción de uno condicionara la acción del siguiente.
Este curso coincidía con los objetivos de la Semana de la Programación, los cuales se basaban en acercar de una manera amena y divertida el mundo de la programación a los participantes. La idea no solo era aprender a programar, sino también comprender el rápido cambio de la tecnología, a intentar comprenderlo y a aprender a innovar con ella. Inercia Digital registró el curso en la página web de la CodeWeek, donde se podían ver e incluso participar en diferentes eventos cuyos objetivos eran la enseñanza de la programación en diferentes partes del mundo.
Los participantes también tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar el colegio SAFA Funcadia en Huelva, donde el Jefe de Estudios nos recibió y nos enseñó la plataforma virtual con la que trabajan tanto profesorado como alumnado (al igual que padres); Andalucía Compromiso Digital, donde nos explicaron las labores que hacen y sus ventajas para la sociedad; y la Universidad de Huelva, donde nos enseñaron el plataforma Moodle que utilizan para la colaboración entre profesorado y profesor-alumno.
Tras la finalización del curso organizado e impartido por Inercia Digital, y al haberlo registrado en la Semana de la Programación, obtuvimos un certificado de participación por contribuir con los objetivos de la CodeWeek.
“Coding with your Students” during European CodeWeek
On October 7th took place the course “Coding with your Students” held by Inercia Digital in El Rompido School, that it also took part during the European CodeWeek (October 6th and 21st). This time, participants from Feltrinelli came to visit us and learn about coding in the creation of video games. The aim of this course is helping teachers to become familiar with different tools as Scratch that allows them to create video games in an intuitive way so they can use it in the classroom.
During the course, the participants could create two different games: the classing pong where the learnt how to create images from scratch and how to code them to move them; automating other ones and create a score and insert different music and sounds depending on the movement. The second games were based on sending broadcast between the different elements so their actions were linked.
This course agreed on the CodeWeek objectives, which are focused on bringing coding closer to their participants in an enjoyable way. Not only was learning about coding the main idea but also understand and learn how to innovate through coding. Inercia Digital registered in CodeWeek website, where people could see and even take part in different events all over the world.
Besides, the participants had the opportunity to visit during the Good Practices Day the educational institution SAFA Funcadia, where the studies co-ordinator showed them the platform they used for the communication between teachers, students and families. They also visited Andalucía Compromiso Digital, where they were explained their work and how they help people to become more skilled in digital skills, and the University of Huelva, where they learnt about the Moodle platform used for teachers and students and how it is used.
After finishing the course, Inercia got a certificate of participation in the CodeWeek, thanks to the contribution of their objectives.
