LyricsTraining es una página que ofrece a sus usuarios una divertida forma de reforzar la comprensión auditiva de una lengua extranjera, la cual no tiene porque necesariamente ser el idioma universal o inglés, pues está disponible en 10 idiomas diferentes: inglés, español, portugués, francés, italiano, alemán, holandés, japonés, turco y catalán. El método de aprendizaje que este espacio virtual pone en práctica consta de canciones de géneros variados que siguen un modelo karaoke, la diferencia está en que para que la música siga sonando el usuario tiene que completar ciertas partes que han sido omitidas, obligándolo así a escuchar detenidamente lo que se está diciendo.
Sin duda alguna es una manera creativa y poco convencional de aprender un idioma, puesto que las personas que coordinan este espacio argumentan que sin tener bases gramaticales en otro idioma ni saber los significados de las palabras se puede aprender sobre su estructura, lo cual puede ser posible. Aun así, creo que lo mejor es usar este método cuando ya se tenga cierto conocimiento de ese otro idioma, pero sobretodo creo que es una buena herramienta para usar en los salones de clases, donde lo alumnos ya están acostumbrados a los métodos tradicionales y siempre es bueno salir de la rutina. Además con esta página seguro que se relajará la atmósfera de la clase y ayudará a que los alumnos se rían pero al mismo tiempo aprendan nuevas estructuras gramaticales, frases y a comprender, en el caso del inglés, distintos acentos que no son el típico acento perfecto del listening de clases, que además no es lo que sucede en la vida real.

The learning method that this web page uses consists of songs of different genres that follow the model of a karaoke, the difference is that the user has to complete a series of gaps in the lyrics that have been skipped so that the music keeps on playing, forcing the user to hear the lyric carefully.
With no doubt this is a creative and unconventional way to learn a language, and this is said because the ones running this webpage argue that you can learn the structure of another language without having any idea of that language’s grammar nor about the meaning of the words, which is possible. Even so, I believe that the best is to use this method when you have certain knowledge about that other language, but specially I think that it is a useful tool to be used in classrooms, where pupils are used to traditional methods and as we know, it is always helpful to make things differently. Moreover, this method will surely relax the classroom’s atmosphere and at the same time will make that the students laugh and enjoy while they learn new grammatical structures, phrases, and to understand, in the case of English, the distinct varieties that are not the typical perfect accent of a class’s listening, which also is not what happens in real life.
