Mi experiencia como alumna en prácticas en Inercia Digital / My experience as student trainee at Inercia Digital

My experience as a student trainee at Inercia Digital

When people are about to begin their curricular internships, illusion invades them. This new stage reminds us, once again, that we are about to close our degree, and immediately our mind is transported to other events that go hand in hand, such as the final exams, the Final Project of the University or the long-awaited graduation of our course. However, faced with this rain of emotions, other less friendly ones appear: doubts. Am I really prepared to carry out tasks in this company?; What will the team be like?; Will I really put into practice the knowledge I have acquired throughout my career?; Will I enjoy this experience?; And… if not?… and endless questions more. All this situation is aggravated by the current context of a pandemic since many organizations are forced to close their doors to students, many others have simply closed their doors, and the rest, can’t assure training and professional experiences as they could have been offering in previous years, because the entity has had to reconvert itself around a new economy and health protocols.

After analyzing all these questions, I recognize that my decision could not have been better. Choosing Inercia Digital as an internship destination has allowed me to enter more deeply into the world of new technologies, which are so necessary, as home confinement has shown us. And… does that organization have something to do with «Culture»? The following question terrified me since the studies I am finishing are related to Cultural Management. But the answer was yes! Of course! I have learned super valuable tools when managing a project, I have put into practice the performance of joint tasks, responsibility but also the support and integration that teamwork implies… and at a distance because my practices were online! And if, for whatever reason, you do not feel comfortable with the assigned tasks, the coordination or direction of the department to which you belong, is in charge of looking for your space, the one in which you really feel fulfilled.

Specifically, the tasks assigned in my case have been closely related to training programmes and content creation. A task of a certain size and responsibility, since the starting point of a task, is always more complicated. However, I will be eternally grateful to the company for the trust they have placed in me. I think it is very valuable to arrive at a company as a trainee and that, without yet carrying out a professional job, they allow you to create ideas and questions that will later become key elements for the company’s activity. Day by day, everything has become easier and more motivating.

In addition, frequent meetings are held to keep in touch with the team and to assign us new tasks in order to broaden our knowledge during this short stay. At the same time, we are always offered the opportunity to attend courses, workshops and conferences to enrich our knowledge and to be aware at all times of the situation of Inercia Digital, knowing its current situation and the projects it is facing.

Remote working, in this case, has not become synonymous with feeling alone. Behind the curly-haired girl who spends hours in front of her PC, there are great people who have guided day by day this first almost professional experience.

In short, I think that Inercia Digital is a company with great potential, that welcomes you from minute one and where you will be in continuous contact with two basic skills for personal development: Digital and English skills.
