Quinto encuentro del Proyecto Erasmus+ «Safe Social Media» en Portugal // Fifth transnational meeting of the «Safe Social Media» Project in Portugal

Fifth transnational meeting of the «Safe Usage of Social Media» Project in Portugal

The fifth transnational meeting of the Erasmus+ Project named “INFORMED AND SAFE USAGE OF SOCIAL MEDIA SKILLS TO ADULTS” took place in Portugal the last December. Inercia Digital is one of the partners in this Project and I had the pleasure to accompanied them to this meeting.

The meeting was organised by the Portuguese partner, Previform, and every partner of this Project was present at the meeting: Autokreacja Foundation (Poland), Golbasi Public Education Center (Turkey), Ankara Golbasi Chamber of Tradesmen and Artisans (Turkey), Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (Greece), Euroform RFS (Italy) and Inercia Digital.

This Project, under the Erasmus+ Programme, aims to help adults by teaching them how to use safe social media, since these adults don’t know how to use internet consciously and in a safe manner and present lack of information about digital life. During the project, the objective is to create teaching material to provide guidance and counselling services to adults whose social, economic and education levels are beneath standards and who couldn’t introduce themselves with information and communication technologies during their formal education to use social media efficiently and in a secure way.

The first day of meeting, after the welcome message from the host partner, the coordinator organisation, Golbasi Public Education Center, presented the state of the art of the project, and the results achieved since the previous meeting. The next topic was the presentation of results of the pilot course implemented by each of the partners. The objective of this pilot training was to evaluate the contents of the teaching module that is being developed during the project. The partners presented the results of the pre-test before the training, the post-test to assess the knowledge, and a satisfaction survey about the organisation of the course. First partners from Greece and Inercia Digital proceeded with their presentations.

The second day the presentation of results of the pilot implementation continued, partners from Turkey, Italy, Portugal and Poland presented their results.

The third and final day of the meeting was dedicated to revise and complete the draft teaching module according to the results of the pilot implementations. The last topic of discussion was about the organisation of the next transnational meeting, which will be held in Turkey.

Finally, I would like to thank Inercia Digital for offering me the opportunity to attend this meeting, and also I would like to say thanks, in the name of the Inercia Digital team, to the members of Previform for their hospitality during our stay in their city.

Inercia Digital will continue informing you about the last steps and results of the Safe Usage of Social Media Project.
