La importancia de las TICs en la educación // The importance of ICT in education
Como se viene mencionando desde hace bastantes años, la relación entre la educación y las nuevas tecnologías ha crecido de manera vertiginosa dada el imparable desarrollo, la importancia y la influencia en la vida cotidiana de estas tecnologías de la información.
Este avance exige de unas políticas tecnológicas acordes a los nuevos tiempos. Siendo también una de las principales causas por la que nuevos medios y la tecnología tienen que estar presente en los centros educativos.
Cabe destacar varias características que se establecen en la relación entre las TICs y la sociedad actual, siendo las siguientes:
- Fácil acceso a todo tipo de información sobre cualquier tema y cualquier formato.
- Instrumentos para todo tipo de proceso de datos.
- Canales de comunicación inmediata en ambos sentidos tanto para recibir y transmitir información.
- Gran almacenamiento de información en pequeños soportes de fácil transporte o inclusive almacenamiento en la nube.
- Interactividad y motivación.
Internet constituye el pilar central de estas nuevas TICs, siendo beneficioso para los alumnos pero a la vez perjudicial dado el volumen de información que pueden recibir. Ello implica que haya una gestión por parte del profesorado orientado a las actividades y destrezas a adquirir por los alumnos.
Un ejemplo de las herramientas que se usan en las aulas son las webquest. Las Webquests se diseñan seleccionando previamente los recursos por el docente, para rentabilizar el tiempo del alumnado; centrando la actividad en el uso de la información, más que en su búsqueda, y para fomentar habilidades de uso y tratamiento de la misma (analizarla, sintetizarla, evaluarla y sacar conclusiones).En definitiva, se trata de apoyar la reflexión del alumnado en los niveles de análisis, síntesis y evaluación.
Aparte de este ejemplo del uso de las tic en la educación, es muy importante que el profesorado adquiera y actualice conocimientos tanto de las TIC como de los nuevos métodos de enseñanza. Para ello existen diferentes proyectos europeos ERASMUS+ que se están llevando a cabo, estando al alcance de cualquier docente como por ejemplo el proyecto DIGA (Digital Innovations for Growth Academy) Alianzas Estratégicas para la formación profesional creado en 2014, para más información pulse aquí. The importance of ICT in education
As it has been mentioning for several years, the relation between education and the new technologies have grown up in a vertiginous way due to the unstoppable development, importance and influence in everyday life of these information technologies.
This advancement demands some technological policies in agreement the new times. Being one of the main causes why new media and technology have to be present at educational institutions.
It has to be highlighted several characteristics that become established in the relation between the ICT and the present-day society, as an example:
- Easy access to any kind of information on any topic and any format.
- Instruments for any kind of data processing.
- Immediate Communication channels in both senses receive and transmit information.
- Large quantity of information storage in little devices of easy transportation or even in cloud storage.
- Interactivity and motivation.
Internet constitutes the central pillar of these new ICT, being beneficial to the pupils but harmful at the same due to the large amount that pupils can receive from it. This aims implies that there must be a faculty management focuses on the activities and skills that will be acquired by the students .
An example of these tools that are being used in the classrooms are the webquest. The Webquests design themselves selecting the resources for the teacher previously, in order to make the passage of time of the student body profitable; Centering the activity in the informational use, more than in it search, and to promote abilities of use and treatment of the same definite (to analyze, to synthesize , to evaluate it and drawing conclusions).In short, it is about backing up the reflection of the student body in the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
Apart from this example of the use of them ICT in education, is very important for the academic staff to acquire and keep up-to-dated knowledge on the ICT as well as on the new teaching methods.
